Look at this GPS use footage. my god =)
Another video of the n95 and in this one you can see the “multimedia” UI with the icons rolling around! Very good to see a UI dedicated for the media consumption. It looks like we are really near to see 100% contextual-oriented UI devices. A pretty nice example of that is already inside this Nokia =)
The one minute review by shiny review! sweet
and for your flip needs… the n75. Doesn’t look that slim.. but it looks smaller than all the other nFlips.
I’m on my way to sweep windows off my house, so… this was the first step =) Now I’m having some fun watching her Geek’ around the house in the wi-fi network.

Two great phones. 5 megapixel camera + gps + wifi + dedicated music buttons makes the n95 a incredible mobile device. I have to agree that now, that convergence talk is starting to make sense =) Hope to see some 80 gigabytes phones in a close future =)
Now, The wait for a nokia slim phones continues. Not that I care to much about slim phones, but I really wanted to see Nokia again in the leadership here in Brazil, where people care more about status / looks than usability / durability / functionality
The only new thing I have to say about zune is:
Why Creative is not sueing MS for it’s UI on zune now?
Zune ui follows the same concept everysingle music player uses nowdays : creates a browsing structure based on it’s tags ( genre / artist / album / ) and that’s exactly what creative claims in it’s patent. So, please Creative why don’t you make another truck of money sueing the giant? I will tell you why using a small hipotetic dialog between the 2 companies:
Creative: “Hi there M$! Nice player you have announced, but unfortunately it uses some ideas on it’s UI that belong to us… so how about you not selling those zune babies and paying some money for the damage to my IP?”
Microsoft “Hi guys, unm… it’s true.. we are using this but hey! do you know about all the windows products that you guys sell? and all those drivers that comes with Windows ? Well I think that we will not be able to cooperate with creative any more… so sorry. Do you really want to sue us about that UI?”
Creative “What UI?”
Click here, then check it again the specs and if you are not a linux developer you should hurry if you want to let one developer without a kit of this green baby.
True: it is the first “real” linux phone. I said that because is the first one where you have full acess to code and you can hack as much as you want. Ok, I don’t believe a Carrier will ever market something as open as this but is a good place for some REAL experiment on mobile development.
Let’s now wait for the hackers to come up with something really innovative and force the industry to adopt more “flexibe” linux on their future linux devices.
one of my favorite symbian application now is ready to be used on 3rd edition phones: oggplay get yours while it’s hot

Well, new ipod shuffle (square, and very tiny), new Nanos (2, 4 and 8 gigas ) with metal cases and colors (4g only) new ITunes, ïTV” and some improvements on Ipod video’s interface.

First: Search. Ok, it doesn’t solve most of IPod’s problem related to ui, but come on, with a 80 gb music /video collection you must have search!

Second: Games. Yeah, I’m a gamer, should be really excited but to be honest, I’m not. Ok I really like Zuma and bejeweled but the wheel is just not suitable for gaming. Must give it a try tought to decided on this one.

Third: New Itunes with cover flow. Well, apple is known for not being a good girl when it comes to freeware software, and I really don’t know if they bought coverflow of if they simply ripped it off. The thing is : cover flow browsing is really really eye candy and doesn’t hurt to have it, even being usable or not.
There were other news related to the new itunes store, with full movie downloads starting at $9,99 and a lot of talk about market share and after that the one people were really expecting:

“iTV”. Looks like a mac mini but flatter, and conects to your HDTV to play all your digital media. iTV is a codename, but I think they announced that just to say so, and with a “next gen front row UI” it should now be a real competition with Windows media center. Let’s wait to see that on the wild.
What didn’t happen: No Macbook pros with core 2 duo, no iphone, no touchscreen IPod, and no mactower. Apple should really be preparing some real next gen products for the next year or it will face a serious competition from other companys.
Update: so apple really bought CoverFlows IP. What a nice news! Is Apple beginning to show some respect for it’s developers? They really deserve some…
Pics from : engadget =)
So, now you have your fancy PVR and the best thing about it? You can skip ads of course! This is giving some big TV the creeps and the thing will just get worse for them. What to do then? Well, there isn’t a definitive solution or way to force users to see the ADs, but this patent claims a way to use the fastfowarding to display ADs (without sound).
I really want to see what is going to happen in the next 25 years on the media field. Some big changes is coming and you don’t need to be a guru to realize that.
Nice, the 2 mobile phone giants working to make it a solid standart is a good signal of what should we expect in the future of mobile digital tv.
via : all about symbian
Go update yours ! click here
So, we are all excited to know if the touchscreen (no phisical whell ) ipod will hit us tomorrow on Apple’s event. Let’s wait one more day to see if it’s real or not =)
The mandriva team has released it’s RC1 for Mona, the codename for the mandriva linux 2007 . The good thing is that it supports both AIGLX and XGL for those people out there dying to have some 3d goodness on their desktops.

Well this levitron video is just great (not so great for our geek needs, as we are not able to buy one here in brazil) but the second video from toyota has a nice idea but is 100% creppy. Dude I’ll have nightmare with those japanese dudes inside cars! And that seat belt? Hell no!
http://books.google.com is on and you can try it out but… don’t expect too much from the “full available” thing. I tried some regular searches and nothing worth it came(ok, I confess: I was trying to found technical books, which is completely dumb). When searching for regular books tought, it worked pretty well. Try it out
