Hey,

This looks awesome! Can you provide some more technical details regarding how it was built?

Such as what language it was written in, what libraries is it using, etc, etc

Will it be open source?

for : anonin :
you will be able to download it from INdT repository. We are rushing it to deliver a very very stable / usable app in this month. So, it will not be late! I promise you.

Rok: Podcasting:
That was a complicated discussions here. I wanted I full featured podcast inside, but that could means a lot of clutter in the interface, and the fast thing we said that we wouldn't do was a keyboard. So, no input from INSIDE canola.
But : we did a web-based configurator for canola, and also a Synchronization application (syncropated) so canola basicly will act like an ipod PLUS you can stream directly from the feeds. Canola updates feeds, shows you the content of the xml file parsed, and you can stream. Downloading multiples, managing, etc is not availble this time. What we can do in the future, is use Rhythmbox as the manager or something similar in the Maemo interface, letting canola be only the view for that. =) I'm really trying to keep it simple =)

Mikel:
We are grabbing photos from a iphoto (or other dpap) sharing while listening musics from a Rhythmbox computer. also you can listen to music from a Upnp resource, while browse pictures from Flickr (photofeed) or iphoto or maybe local pictures.

We are not using any particular software for the server, just regular software people uses nowdays.

As you told me I'm trying to test now with Tversity but I was not able even to make it work correctly with media streamer ( doesn't appears on it, while appears in canola, but no items )

Cantagalli:
Sharing is a thing that is possible but not like Zune (3 times then buy it). Our sharing is more like: a rythmbox sharing or a itunes sharing.. you can only stream the other canola's media. But as this is a more sensitive feature, expect some updates.

Release date for the first version: november!

Wiredless:
Yeah that as the case. Ipod is great for the weel, and it's almost perfect in it's way to do it. Our design efforts focused on giving touchscreen a good usage. Ok if you really use your fingers will let you screen dirty, but who knows in about what's coming in the future? Maybe surfaces that keep itself clean? or more precise touchscreen like the onyx concept.

I really want to be able to use canola at cars, plane seats and a lot of other ways. So let's be inspired by Ipods simplicity but let's really use the gorgeous screen! =)

Ronen:
It was supposed to work right out of the box, cause Tversity is a Upnp server. Upnp has shown a lot of problems, and with Tversity I don't know if I'm setting up it correctly. Can you send me your configuration setting? I really want to add Tversity as a supported server / at least test enviromment.

Thanks for all the feedback, and I will keep everyone updated!
