The Nokia N800 is out! What about Canola on it?
So, it looks that some people already got some n800 to play (I’m so envy of them) and we are on our path to make Canola runs great on this new and exciting device. Speed doesn’t seem to be the problem, and the problem are not … problems. Actually looks like Nokia guys did an REALLY amazing job on the platform and now a lot of things under the hood are different but for better, like the upnp API it’s working smoothly now and looks that it deals better with a lot of devices it didn’t in the previous version. So we are just adjusting our code to it and you can expect a version for it pretty soon!

Hi, when can we have the version for this? I am expecting to use it on my N800. Looking forward for you to make a Beta version ;)
January 8th, 2007 at 8:22 amWill you continue to support the 770 with new releases of Canola? I made the mistake of buying a 770 just last week and now I’m kicking myself for not waiting a week longer.

January 9th, 2007 at 8:37 pmLooking forward to Canola shipping for the N800! Can’t wait to get it up and running on my new toy :-)
January 16th, 2007 at 4:06 amI will review next version of Canola on my Nokia 770 and hopefully by end of next week, my new Nokia N800. I will try to give it a good test with TVersity and Twonky and try to objectively compare features of latest version of Media Streamer & Canola running on both devices.
The only fly in the ointment, is my return with work to UK beginning of Feb, so my Internet , home network Wi-Fi test environment may take a little while to set up like I currently have it in Madrid.
